The run New Kids on the Block defense wasn’t the worst I’ve ever seen it
March 2, 2010 # 4:16 am # Sexual Health # No CommentThe run updates New Kids on the Block defense wasn’t new kids on the bloock understand the worst I’ve ever seen it, but there was 2inexcusable walk in touch downs by Snelling. Actually, they were untouched walk-in touchdowns. While the run defense is far from perfect, it’s still way better than the pass defense. I don’t know if it’s Bill Sheridan, or the players that he has to work with, but someone or something must stop the bleeding on the deep stuff. Every single week we get killed in the deep middle, is it performance/execution, or is it the play calling? The pass rush was better, but still NOTHING like it was a year ago. Special teams has been horrible to say the least, can we make a stop inside the 35 on a kick off?I haven’t heard anyone talk about this, although I may have missed it, every kick-off theopposing team is starting with greatField position, it seems like 1 first down and they’re at mid feild every single time. Obviously Tynes has beenerratic at best, and I’m not seeing the Dominick Hixon that I once saw. Since Hixon is back at KR I haven’t seen 1 kick return go for more than 40 yards.
He had a 48 yarder against the Falcons, but of course (terrible ST) there was apenalty and it didn’t count. My Report Card Week 11:Passing Offense (A+Eli has been very good the last 2 games, and this week 11 game against the Falcons, may be the best I’ve ever seen Eli, minus the terrible pick in the 1stquarter new kids on the block nkotb . Seems like him and Manningham are really starting to get that back shoulder throw down, those plays are near impossible to stop even for the best corners new kids on the blook . Of course, how could you forgetwhat Manning and Burress did to poor Al Harris in the championship game with those types of timing routes…Rushing Offense (C-First of all, I still think they’re not running enough new kids on the blocl . 3 games in a row now Jacobs has started out good, but then they get away from it new kids of the block . I know that the Saints have given the rest of theleague a blue print for stopping the Giants offense. Everyone thought that blueprint was 8 in the box and make Eli beat ya.
Here’s a news flash for the rest of theleague, Eli gets better and better with every snap he takes, one more 300 + yards 3 touchdown performance for Eli, and I’m willing to bet, the run offense WILL get better new kids on the block tour . Just for the record, Eli eats cover 2 he always has, I’ll be the first to tell you, short to mid range accuracy is definitely NOT Eli’s strong suit, but when it comes to the deep ball, or he has to drop one in over a corner and in front of a safety, Eli is as good as they come.Pass Defense (FObviously, this one is easy, the pass defense ispitiful newkidsontheblock . Corey Webster remains the only bright spot in that secondary nkotb tour . Aaron Rouse has been much better than CC Brown at safety, but the safeties are still the obvious weak spot nkotb . I know Corey Webster had a ruff game against the Chargers, but he made up for that and then some by virtually shutting Roddy White down all afternoon. Maybe with Aaron Ross coming up on 100%, and the addition of constant fresh legs on the line with Chris Canty , they’ll get it straightened out.. They Better if I hope to be writing articles in January.Rushing Defense (D-I could have easily graded the run defense an F, you can’t have running backs walking in from 12 yards out untouched, there is no excuse for that.
The run defense looks like it parts like the red sea because the pass defense is so God awful new kids on the block merchandise . They’re all so worried about the ball being thrown over their head, they forget to splay the run…There is a very bright side to all of this, we have a very winnable game on Thanksgiving, with that win we’re back to 7 and 4 and very much alive in not only the wild card chase, but even another division championship.Wanna hear a secret?I’d rather NOT be the 1 or 2 seed, I like my chances on the road in the dead of winter rather than the wind of the Meadowlands, everyone knows, the wind really gets to Eli, and dead in the middle of winter, that wind in the Meadowlands is not to be over looked.Enjoy an occassional wager?Click Here to beat the bookies.. nkotb merchandise . It’s hardly fair to a player who just suffered an injury to say that it happened at the perfect time, but in the case of John Mitchell and the Toronto Maple Leafs, it just may have.Mitchell suffered an MCL injury Monday night against the New York Islanders and has been put on the shelf for six weeks; bad news for him, but it could be great news for the team.Mitchell has been struggling mightily this season, and with the Leafs in the midst of three of the strangest games in recent memory, it’s clear something had to change before the fans’ mental health was at risk.Adding one of the young guys from the Marlies has been talked about by fans and media alike for weeks, and it finally has happened. After losing four straight games the team found itself in Carolina against the last-place Hurricanes, desperate for a win new kids on the block dte . The Leafs’ 3-0 lead evaporated and the two teams were deadlocked 4-4 with less than a minute to go new kisd on the block . Ian White scored with less than a minute left, but Eric Cole tied it up with just 2.9 seconds remaining. And as they normally do, the Leafs lost in the shootout.Next up was a date with the first-place Washington Capitals on Saturday night; the fans expected a blow-out after the terrible play of late. But, alas, after mostly shutting down Alex Ovechkin and the rest of the Caps, the Leafs won in a shootout.Yes, a shootout. Weird. But nothing could prepare the team, or fans, for what happened against the Islanders.
After utterly dominating the game, coming back from a 3-0 deficit, having Vesa Toskala pull himself with an injury three shots too late, and firing a grand total of 61 shots on Dwayne Roloson, the Leafs lost a heartbreaker in overtime. That game was one of the great mysteries of this season for a team that could write a book on strange occurrences through 22 games.Needless to say, the effort has been there in each of the past three games; it’s the finish that hasn’t . They have collected four of the possible six points in that stretch but this team is not in a position where it can afford consecutive one-point games. And come on, 61 shots, really? In a game where you get that many pucks on net, the only goalie skating to the bench should be the other team’s after being shelled for six or seven goals. So just when the team needed to dump a struggling forward and inject some life into the lineup, down goes Mitchell with that bum-knee.Perfect timing.Hey, it’s a cut-throat business and sometimes an injury can make way for an up-and-coming star waiting for a chance with the big club.Consider your window of opportunity wide open, Christian Hanson. The budding star has been called up from the Toronto Marlies to replace Mitchell (who has only two goals this season) and it could turn out to be a huge positive for the Leafs new kids on the bolck . Hanson leads the Marlies in goals and points (8G, 18P) through 18 games and is second in the AHL in rookie scoring. His play has been extremely impressive this season and if that carries over to his play in the NHL the Leafs could finally see that needed finish, from yet another American new kids on the blokc . Phil Kessel can’t do everything on his own.Yes, it is rather harsh to say that the Leafs needed one of their struggling forwards to get hurt—since Coach Ron Wilson didn’t seem to want to sit any of them—but now that Mitchell is out for significant time, Hanson has all the opportunity in the world to show he belongs in the NHL.And the insertion of a kid playing the best hockey of his life could be perfect for a Leafs team in serious need of more scoring . Leaf fans hope Hanson is one answer to a team with many questions. If all goes well, it could turn out that an injury was just what the doctor ordered for the Leafs.Weird; but in Toronto, what else is new?.
